Scope and Content Elevation of Cullen Town Hall, Aberdeenshire Cullen Town Hall was built for new town of Cullen which was begun in 1821. It was paid for by the Seafield estate. The architect designed many of the local buildings, but he made the Town Hall stand out by making it more sophisticated than the rest. The circular rooms at its corner would have made the Town Hall stand out because they were unusual. The walls were mostly made of rubble which was then whitewashed to match the colour of the more expensive and elegant free stone. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
