Scope and Content Belfry of Glasgow Tolbooth Steeple, Glasgow Glasgow Tolbooth Steeple dates from the 17th century and is all that remains of Glasgow's tolbooth which stood on the same site from the 15th century. Each of the sixteen bells is rung by a wire from the late 19th-century carillon on the seventh floor. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
