Scope and Content Glasgow Tolbooth Steeple, Glasgow Glasgow Tolbooth Steeple dates from the 17th century and is all that remains of Glasgow's tolbooth which stood on the same site from the 15th century. The steeple now stands in an isolated position. However, originally, the tolbooth's main block came to just below the clock stage. 20th-century masonry now blocks the gaps left by the demolition.
