Scope and Content Burgh arms and jougs on New Galloway Town Hall, Dumfries and Galloway New Galloway Town Hall dates to the early 18th century but was almost completely rebuilt in 1875-6. Its bells were donated by two Jacobite supporters, the 6th Viscount Kenmure executed after 1715, and the brother of the Earl of Dundonald. A small plaque displays the burgh arms over the main entrance. It probably dates to the original construction in the early 18th century. Above hangs a set of jougs.
