Scope and Content Cross-slab at Rosemarkie, Ross and Cromarty, Highland This cross-slab was found under the floor of the old church in Rosemarkie. It was found in two pieces, and the top and base are lost. Even so, it is a spectacular example of a carved stone. It is now in Groam House Museum. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. This face is carved with a small, equal-armed cross at the top. The rest of the face is decorated with interlace and intertwined animals. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
