Scope and Content Carillon inside Glasgow Tolbooth Steeple, Glasgow Glasgow Tolbooth Steeple dates from the 17th century and is all that remains of Glasgow's tolbooth which stood on the same site from the 15th century. The seventh floor of the steeple still houses a late 19th-century carillon. Each wire from the carillon rings one of the sixteen bells in the belfry Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
