Scope and Content Redrawn for publication from DC 32355. Plan of the stone circle at Girdle Stanes, Dumfries and Galloway Situated in a hollow on the east bank of the River White Esk, some 300m north of Cote steading, are the remains of a stone circle. Erosion has destroyed about a third of this site, which comprises at least 21 closely-set stones atop an earthen bank. 13 of the stones, shown in black, remain upright today. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
