The garden has a large lawn with curving edges surrounded by a herbaceous borders with lupins and small shrubs. There is an ivy clad wall on the right. Seagate Castle dates from the 14th century and originally stood by the sea; the area's shifting sands have since pushed the sea away. The castle used to belong to the Earls of Eglinton.
