Scope and Content A substantial castellated house in Scottish baronial style, set on a steep terrace above a landscaped garden. A flight of steps leading up to the terrace has roses growing along the parapets. Skibo Castle was built in the 19th century and was purchased by Andrew Carnegie in 1897 as a family residence.
