Scope and Content A Norman church with ornate south entrance, round-headed windows and a modern tower in Norman style. A gravel path leads up to the doorway through a graveyard with headstones, trees and bushes. Houses in the background. The church consists of a nave with a lower choir and round apse at the east end. The windows have pillars supporting chevron decorated mouldings above. The doorway is set within deep moulding with interlocking arches on pillars above. Dedicated to St Cuthbert, this is one of the preserved Norman churches in Scotland, the tower rebuilt in 1937 to replace the one that fell in the 15th century. The mouldings round the doorway and at the roof line above are of a zoomorphic nature.
