Scope and Content A long low iron girder railway viaduct crosses a wide river bed with large low gravel banks and bars. There are woods in the background on the far bank. A rubble boulder embankment carries the track on to spans supported by round stone piers on either side of a long arched span in the centre of the bridge. The track operated by the Great North of Scotland Railway Company and was opened in 1884. The track crosses the Spey at Garmouth.
