Scope and Content A large rendered building with gables facing on to the street and a long rustic porch in front with plants growing up the posts. A car is parked in the road before and there is a steep craggy hill behind. The gables have decorative boards and a finial. There are dormer windows between the gables and chimney pots on top of the stacks. Robert Burns (1759-1796) visited here and admiring the view, wrote a few lines on it above the fireplace. Two miles to the east is the Croft Moraig stone circle; it was excavated in 1965 and found to have many phases of construction.
