Scope and Content A wide view of a coastal clifftop, with cultivated fields flanking a narrow road passing a large rock mass. Haystacks have been built beside the houses and there are haycocks in the fields. Two boys are seen in the near pasture. Kilchattan is a small resort town with a pier built in 1880. Steamboats once plied a course between Kilchattan and other ports on the Firth of Clyde. Kilchattan overlooks Cumbrae and the Isle of Arran.
