Scope and Content A substantial stuccoed castle, with a large keep, entrance tower and side wings, is sited on high terrace built out of the hillside. A sunken garden with flowered plants and shrubbery is in the foreground. The oldest part of the castle is seen on the left, the rest of the castle dates to an 1832 rebuild. Craignish Castle is near the end of Craignish peninsula by Loch Craignish and opposite a pier that was used by drovers from the Isle of Jura when transporting cattle.
