Scope and Content A castellated mansion house with a weather vane on the cupola capping the entrance tower, climbing plants on walls, statuary and topiary in the grounds. A sundial is seen at centre left, with a small fountain or another sundial at mid centre. This is a 16th century tower with 17th century additions. The Old Pretender, James V, twice sought refuge in the tower during the 1715 Rebellion.
