Scope and Content A masted fishing boat rounding a pier, with a small lighthouse, further boats in the harbour, and a coastal town beyond. There are several children beside the lighthouse. The lighthouse was possibly named after Dr Thomas Chalmers (1780-1847), founder of the Free Church, who was born in Anstruther Easter. Anstruther was once a main centre of the herring industry. The Scottish Fisheries Museum is sited on the harbour front.
