Scope and Content A church with a square entrance tower at its west end and a cross on the east gable set amid a small cluster of cottages and houses beside a moorland road. A line of small trees borders the foreground pasture. The church and village are set on a small platform on the craggy hillside overlooking a flat area. The church has tall slender windows with buttresses in between. The population in this area is mainly Catholic. During World War II Arisaig House was used as the headquarters for the Special Operations Executive (SOE).
