The church overlooks the harbour and is dedicated to St Andrew. Witch trials took place here in 1591. At the trials witches and wizards were said to have cavorted in the churchyard and consorted with the devil (who appeared in the form of the 5th Earl of Bothwell), and interfered with graves.
