Pleasure boats are moored offshore and round the landing stage, which has flagpoles and small huts beneath open sided shelters. The bridge has roundels on the piers. The North Inch was the setting for the Battle of the Clans in 1396 but in recent times used for football, cricket and has a golf course. Perth Bridge was designed by John Smeaton and built in 1771; it was widened in 1869.
