Scope and Content A distant view of an elegant single-arched metal bridge spanning a wide river. The bridge has round entrance towers at either end. There is a shingle bank right of view, and a densely wooded hill beyond. Craigellachie is a village on the junction of the Rivers Spey and Fiddich. The elegant iron bridge was built by Thomas Telford between 1812-1815. It has a single span of 46m and crenellated towers and may be the oldest surviving iron bridge in Scotland.
