Description H M Theatre and the Wallace Statue, Aberdeen

Date 1/1/1892 to 31/12/1892

Collection Records of the Scottish Cultural Resources Access Network (SCRAN), Edinburgh, Scotland

Catalogue Number DP 447938

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content A city street with classical style buildings, one domed, and two boys looking at the statue of warrior on a rock plinth on the corner beside a garden. A small group of children are sitting on the plinth, the girl wearing a pinafore. Two schoolboys, and a man in bowler hat are looking on. There is a double-decker tram in the background. The Valentine register states only "Wallace Statue". As the theatre was built between 1904 and 1908, this must therefore be a replacement for an earlier print of the statue placed this number.
