Scope and Content A highly ornate entrance porch to a cathedral with the figures of Christ and the Apostles on the recessed arch above the twin doors. The figures flanking the door and those on the tympanum were added in 1876. St Andrews Cathedral serves the See of Moray, Ross and Caithness. It was built in 1868 in the Gothic style to the designs of Alexander Ross and is sited on Ardross Street between the Northern Meeting Park and the south bank of the River Ness.
