Scope and Content A view from the interior of a ruined ecclesiastical building, of a Gothic arched window frame with the remains of tracery. Fine stonework decorates the interior walls. Lincluden Abbey was originally founded as a Benedictine nunnery, the only one in Scotland. It was refounded in 1389 as a collegiate church and contains the tomb of Countess Margaret (d. ca. 1440), the daughter of King Malcolm III.
