Scope and Content Ornate tomb niche set in frame with row of shields below shelf with reclining headless figure. Heavily decorated arch with foliate carvings and Gothic tracery forming lancet panels above. Shield carvings visible. Ornate decorated Gothic doorway with shields above door frame on left. Window frames with remains of tracery and ribbed vault springing from ornate corbel in wall above tomb. Daisy covered grass before tomb. The only 12th century Benedictine nunnery in Scotland. Refounded in 1389 as a collegiate church, it contains the tomb of Countess Margaret (d. ca. 1440), the only surviving royal tomb in Scotland. She was the daughter of Robert III.
