Scope and Content Circular arched structure on a wooded hill above stone houses with hedged and walled front gardens at road junction. The folly a replica of the Colosseum, dominates the skyline. There is an ornamental street lamp on the corner of the road. The tower was erected in 1897 by John Stuart McCaig, a local banker, to ease unemployment. It was also intended to commemorate McCaig and his family.
