Scope and Content A pond surrounded by rose beds and single yew trees on a lawn before a harled tower house and outbuildings. Dense woods behind the buildings. The harled castle has corner turrets at roof level and a full height round tower with waterspouts round the top and a weather vane. A continuous corbel course runs across the the main wall below the corner turret. This 16th century tower house was built by John Cathcart in 1586 and owned by the Cathcart family until 1954.
