Scope and Content L[ondon and] N[orth] E[astern] R[ailway] Steamer "Jeanie Deans" sailing on a loch with a heather covered mountainside behind. There is a young forestry plantation on the slopes of the hill, and a pier with a whitewashed building behind the steamer. The steamer is a grey passenger ship with two funnels, mast and lifeboats in davits. Passengers are standing on the open decks with a wheelhouse in front of the funnels and a small passenger lounge behind. "Jeanie Deans", 635 tons, was built in 1931 for the LNER and used as an anti-aircraft ship in 1939-1940 (World War II). She was sold in 1965 to the Coastal Steam Packet Co., renamed "Queen of the South", and sailed on the Thames until broken up in 1967.
