Scope and Content Bay with a large pier jutting out into the water and passenger paddle steamers docking. People crowded on the pier before building with clock steeple. Many yachts and rowing boats moored in the harbours behind the pier. Seafront with lawns, bandstand and shelters in square before tall houses, buildings and churches with steeples. Hill with woods and fields above the town buildings and church towers. Third paddle steamer leaving dock. Houses and deserted wharf with derrick and in foreground.
