Scope and Content Loch Dundreggan is dammed at its east end, and collects water from the River Moriston. Underneath the dam are the turbines of Glenmoriston Power Station. This was the first underground hydro-electric station built in the UK, commissioned in 1957, with an operating capacity of 37 MWs. Its transformers are pictured here. Water from the power station discharges via a tunnel into Loch Ness.
