Scope and Content Scene on the island of Murano in the Venetian Lagoon, Italy. Clock tower and blue glass sculpture by Simone Cenedese. Its title is 'Natale di luce in una cometa di vetro' or 'Christmas of light in a glass comet' and has become Murano's symbol of Christmas. The island of Murano became the centre of glass making in the 13th Century. Natale di Vetro (Christmas of Glass) is an annual Christmas celebration in Murano.
