Scope and Content View of the bridge over the River Tay at Dunkeld. The 209m long bridge was designed by Thomas Telford and replaced a dangerous ferry over the river Tay. It must have been a formidable crossing for the Jacobites. On 3rd September 1745, Charles Edward Stuart marched with his followers through the Pass of Killiecrankie to Dunkeld.
