Scope and Content Loch Lochy is situated at the heart of the Great Glen. It runs 16 km south west from Laggan to Gairlochy. The loch is 180 metres deep, about 16 km long and only around 1.5 km wide. The banks of the loch are surrounded by steep wooded hillsides. Loch Lochy is a location associated with travels of Bonnie Prince Charlie and his followers during the Jacobite Rising of 1745.
