Scope and Content A series of photos depicting the passenger boat called the Waverley as it carries passengers along the River Clyde. The passenger ship Waverley, built in 1946, is the last seagoing, passenger-carrying paddle steamer in the world. She sailed from Craigendoranon in the Firth of Clyde to Arrochar on Loch Long until 1973, when she was purchased by the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society. She has since been lovingly restored to her original appearance and now operates regular passenger excursions.
