Scope and Content Royal arms on Glasgow Tolbooth Steeple, Glasgow Glasgow Tolbooth Steeple dates from the 17th century and is all that remains of Glasgow's tolbooth which stood on the same site from the 15th century. This royal arms is displayed on the lintel of the fourth-floor door which originally led into the 'Royal Hall' of the old tolbooth. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
