Scope and Content Earlsferry Town-house, Fife Earlsferry Town-house replaced an older building in a poor condition. Its construction was one of the first acts of a new town council elected in 1871 after the town had been run by managers for twenty years. The new town-house was built in simple baronial style. The architect's first design was rejected because of is 'great expence', and he had to simplify the windows in his second, cheaper, design. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
