Description Aberdeen, York Place, Hall Russell Shipyard. View into underground pump room for dry dock, at West end of mouth of dock. It contains 2 electrically-powered pumps mounted on welded steel beds. Also visible are hand-operated gate valves in discharge pipes (0.53m diameter). Intake pipes are below pump. The pumps were made by Weir Pumps of Glasgow, and the electric motors by Brooks of Huddersfield (150hp). Two smaller pumps remove seepage.
