Scope and Content Interior of Castle Leod, near Strathpeffer, Highland Castle Leod was probably rebuilt after 1608 - the year Roderick Mackenzie received the estate from his brother - and enlarged a few years later. It fell into disuse in the 18th century and was restored, altered and extended in the 19th century. Most of the castle's interior dates from the 19th century. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
