Description Alloa, Whins Road, Brewery, Wort Cooling area, interior View of two stainless steel paraflow or heat exchangers which can deal with some 135 barrels per hour. After the wort is pumped from the whirlpool it is cooled, using chilled liquor, from boiling point to about 10-16 degrees centigrade (depending on the brew) in about 2 hours. The cooled wort is then be transferred to the fermentation area. Other stainless steel vessels on the right are used in the routing of detergents around the brewery (not in situ)
