Description Alloa, Whins Road, Brewery, Mill Room area, top floor, interior View showing intake and distribution area of mill room area. Note intake duct carrying malted barley mix from the fourth floor of the Barns Block c.120 metres away. The grain is conveyed to the Buhler destoner, in the foreground of the picture, which sorts out foreign bodies from the malt mix by vibrating at a rate of 4000 r.p.m. Any foreign bodies (metalwork, stones etc.) falls into a sack attached to the mouth of the destoner of which can be seen in the foreground. The malt to be milled is removed by means of a 'screw' visible in the middle foreground and conveyed to a screen below which feeds the Miag malt mill
