Scope and Content Written on the back of the mounted print: 'Shire: Fife. Place: Anstruther Wester. Building: Railway Tavern and 18 High Street'. Photographer: 'F.B.' Date: 'July 1963' The Railway Tavern, now the Dreel Tavern, was probably built in the early 17th century and altered in 1734, the date inscribed on the rear of the building. Remains of an earlier window are preserved in the masonry just above the door and to the left. [Gifford makes number 18 separate from the Tavern.
