Scope and Content Canmore and HER references the area in the centre of the photo as an unenclosed settlement, following excavations by Prof Barri Jones between 1991-3. Subsequent field walking in the area in 2010-2011 by the North of Scotland Archaeological Society produced lithics, flints, medieval pottery and coins. Test pitting revealed layers of shells. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
