Date: July 1963'. Front of west range Pittenweem Priory, Pittenweem, Fife Pittenweem Priory was founded in the 13th century when Augustinian priors moved to the site from the Isle of May. The surviving buildings, probably dating from the 15th century, have been substantially altered and restored since the Middle Ages. The front of the west range is 16th- to 17th- century in appearance. Probably originally a dormitory or refectory, it was converted to a manse in 1588. The dormer windows projecting from the roof may be part of Robert S Lorimer's restoration of 1921. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
