Scope and Content Recorded on the mounted print: 'Scottish National Buildings Record. Shire: Fife. Place: Pittenweem. Building: St John's Episcopal Church - Marygate. Photographer: F.B. Date: July 1963'. Monument to Bishop Kennedy, west wall of St John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, Marygate, Pittenweem, Fife St John the Evangelist Episcopal Church was built in 1805 in a simple Gothic style. A north porch and an east sanctuary were added in 1869-70 when the interior was remodelled to face east. Robert Lorimer supervised its refurbishing in 1924. This monument to Bishop Kennedy of St Andrews, who died in 1465, is built into the west wall of the church. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
