Scope and Content The river Ness is in the foreground with Thornbush Quay and shipyard on the right and Longman quay constructed in 1985 on the left. In front of the oil tanks are the scant remains of Cromwell's fort built in 1653. The NW and NE bastions, a rampart, and a clock tower are all that survive. Waterloo bridge is top right.
