Scope and Content This view focuses on the section of the Southern Distributor Road between the Essich Roundabout and the Culduthel Mains Roundabout. Holm Dell and Essich Gardens are to the right of the road and Lochardil Woods and Culduthel are on the left. Archaeological investigations at Culduthel ahead of development uncovered an extensive prehistoric landscape as well as some medieval remains. The Essich Road, which runs from left to right is on the line of the 1726 military road. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
