Scope and Content This is a view of the links at Castle Stuart Golf Course opened in 2009. Castle Stuart can be seen just above centre with the Home Farm behind. Castle Stuart is essentially a C17 tower house and was given to James Stewart, Earl of Moray, by Mary Queen of Scots, though the property had initially been held by the Mackintoshes. It was abandoned c. 1835, but restored in the late 1970s and now provides luxury accommodation to visitors. Petty Church is towards the right of picture. It was built in 1839 but there has been a church on this site since at least 1769. It is now no longer used and is classified as a building at risk. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
