Scope and Content This is a view of housing in the western area of Invergordon on the site of the policies of Invergordon Castle. The golf course is towards the top of picture. The C13 Invergordon Castle was originally called Inverbreakie Castle but was replaced in 1872 by a mansion house which was demolished in 1928. The Hilton of Cadboll stone had been moved to a site near the castle but was taken first to the British Museum and then to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland. When the original 9 hole golf course was extended in 1996, two of the original holes were dispensed with and the houses in Fleming Way are built on that site. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
