Scope and Content This is a view of the housing development along the Southern Distributor Road (A8082) in Inverness. It focuses on the houses around the Culduthel Mains Roundabout. To the left of the roundabout is Culduthel Avenue, where evidence of mediaeval rig and furrow was uncovered. At bottom centre of the photo are Culduthel Mains Gardens and Culduthel Mains Crescent. To the right is Culduthel Mains Circle and to its left and still under construction is Holm Farm Road. Excavation in advance of this development uncovered a Bronze Age landscape with pits, a ring cairn, round houses and evidence of metal working. To the left and above Culduthel Avenue is Inverness Royal Academy and above that the white roofed building is the indoor bowling centre. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
