Scope and Content A general view of the south sutor with the WW1 and WW2 S Sutor Coastal Battery remains spread along the cliffs. The WW2 Radar Station was positioned on the high point of the headland just below centre, and directly below it is the WW2 Signal Station and Camp. To the left of the Radar Station along the crest of the ridge where cultivation ridges can be seen was the site of the post medieval Gallows also reputedly used as an observation post. To the right of the Gallows and above and to the right of the Radar Station the WW2 S Sutor Military Camp. To the right of the snowy field in the centre of the image is Cromarty House and the Motte and Tower House of Cromarty Castle and further right the Burgh of Cromarty with its harbour visible close to the point.
