An oblique aerial view of Mallaig, Wester Ross, looking E.

DP 341448

Description An oblique aerial view of Mallaig, Wester Ross, looking E.

Date 25/5/2008

Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Catalogue Number DP 341448

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content Present-day Mallaig did not exist until 1901 when the railway came. In Mallaig, apart from one or two enclosures and boundaries, there is little of archaeological interest on Canmore or HER apart from railway nostalgia, although the HER records a nine-building township in 1876 from the First edition map. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
